Our 2 cents….

• If USD crashes, which other currency can act as the world reserve currency ? Probably none. CNY is the closest. But China is a closed and secretive debt burdened economy. USA is the biggest consumer and China, the biggest producer and seller. Hence, the Chinese would always like the CNY to be weak.

• Crash of equity & real estate markets is cyclical in nature. The reasons change but the correction happens every few years. This is a part of the game. One has to manage risk while investing.

• Innovation is transforming the way we live our lives. There is a good evidence of innovation bringing in transparency and keeping prices of consumer products at reasonable levels irrespective of the changes in input costs. This, itself is a good cushion to inflation.

• If inflation does rapidly take asset prices up, companies will benefit and result in more jobs + better pay for existing jobs. This should bring more money in pockets of people who can then buy higher priced assets.

• Crashes and corrections happen 10% of the time and there are bull / sideways markets 90% of the time.
